Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China released the results of random inspection and supervision on three water-saving

Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China released the results of random inspection and supervision on three water-saving products such as toilets. All the 18 batches of unqualified products were smart toilets and body washes. There are substandard items that endanger personal safety. And well-known brands in the field of sanitary ceramics such as Orusa, Guanzhu, Langjing, etc. occupy "half of the country" in the black list. According to industry insiders, the smart toilet industry has just started, and there is a serious lack of supervision and regulation. Some enterprises are ignorant or ignorant of production standards, which has led to the current situation. However, after the national inspection, everyone has collectively repented and improved the production process.

40% of smart toilets are unqualified

The hidden danger of substandard products endangers personal safety

It is understood that this test is the first national supervision of smart toilet products in the random inspection of toilet products. A total of 52 kinds of ordinary toilets, 25 kinds of integral smart toilets, and 20 kinds of stand-alone toilets (electronic toilet lids) were randomly checked. Among them, 18 batches of unqualified products were all from smart toilets and body washes.

In order to highlight the random inspection of items involving personal health and safety, AQSIQ focused on the inspection of input power and current, heat generation, leakage current and electrical strength at working temperature, moisture resistance, leakage current and electrical strength, grounding measures, heat resistance and flame resistance and Safety items such as safe water level. As a result, many brands fail on these most basic items.

One of the hardest hit areas for unqualified projects is the fire resistance of the seat ring of smart toilet products. It is reported that heat resistance and flame resistance are mandatory requirements of electrical safety standards. If the heat resistance and flame resistance of non-metallic materials in electrical products do not meet the requirements, when the product fails or is overloaded, accidents such as smoke and fire may occur, which directly harms User safety. A total of 17 batches of product seat ring materials failed the flame resistance test this time, mainly because the company did not add flame retardants or did not add enough flame retardants in the production process. Brand products such as Orusa, Langjing, Braun, Guanzhu and Apollo all have this problem.

Another serious substandard item is the grounding measures for smart toilet products. It is reported that this is also a mandatory requirement of electrical safety standards, and failure of this project may cause electric shock accidents. This problem existed in 3 batches of products, and Langjing's products won the bid again. There is also 1 batch of products, the fever does not meet the standard requirements. The temperature rise of the hot air used for drying the human body is too high, which will cause harm to the user.

There are many incidents of toilet fires

Some manufacturers do not understand safety standards

Looking back at the past news, there have been many incidents of smart toilet fires. In 2013, the Dongpeng smart toilet of Mr. Liu, who lives in Dongguan, caught fire. "The entire toilet has collapsed, leaving only the block structure, and the upper left corner of the socket connected to the toilet plug has melted." At that time, some industry insiders analyzed that the toilet seat may not be flame retardant. According to the "Jianghuai Morning News" report, in 2012, in a house rented by Ms. Ren in a community in Hefei, the smart toilet produced by Shanghai "Olusha" Sanitary Ware Company spontaneously ignited and left a base. Neither of the above two accidents has released the final cause of the accident investigation. In December 2014, according to "China Business Daily", the smart toilet of Mr. Yuan's house in Xi'an also ignited spontaneously, and the manufacturer explained that it was caused by the aging of the wiring.

Are there any strict safety regulations in the production standards for smart toilets? Some industry insiders pointed out that there is currently no complete standard for smart toilets. The toilet seat part of this product is produced according to the standard of household appliances, and the lower part is produced according to the standard of sanitary ceramics. Subsequently, the reporter checked the "Special Requirements for Safe Toilets for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" (GB40706.53-2008), which has clear regulations on grounding measures, heat resistance and flame resistance. Since the standard is clearly stipulated, why is there still such a large proportion of products that fail to meet important items involving personal safety?

Huang Xinhong, secretary general of the Smart Bathroom Branch of China Ceramics Industry Association, said in an interview with a reporter from the Beijing Times that although the smart toilet industry has been developed in China for more than ten years, it has been tepid and the market acceptance is not high, and few people pay attention. The traditional industry of some manufacturers is sanitary ceramics. After entering the smart toilet project, they ignored the safety requirements of the toilet seat part of electrical appliance production. It can be said that some manufacturers do not even know that there is such a production standard, which directly led to the "tragic" results of this sampling. In terms of heat resistance and flame resistance, Huang Xinhong said that adding flame retardants will increase production costs for some small manufacturers. "Adding flame retardants requires re-opening the mold, and the cost is very high. If the technology is not up to standard, there will be defects on the plastic surface, and there will be a color difference between the toilet seat and the toilet cover." Therefore, many small factories choose not to add them. As for the problems such as grounding measures, it proves that the manufacturer does not strictly control the quality of the products.

But what puzzled the reporter of Beijing Times is that small factories cut corners, and big brands like Orusa are expensive. Why risk saving dozens of dollars? Industry insiders revealed that many The brand's smart toilets are all found by downstream companies, and the quality control is not good, and there will also be problems.

The company involved has been rectified

Unqualified products can be returned for no reason

Last year, the news that the Chinese people in Japan snapped up the smart toilet seat made the smart toilet products get huge attention. Just when this industry is getting the attention of domestic consumers, the results of the national inspection have given many companies that are eager for quick success and instant success.

According to Huang Xinhong, companies and associations had been notified in 2015 before the results of the spot checks were made public. In response to the problems in the sampling inspection, the association actively carried out standard publicity and training, and organized suppliers and technicians to tackle the technical problems of adding flame retardants. "No reason can be used as a reason for violating national standards. This sampling inspection has sounded the alarm for many production enterprises." According to reports, the enterprises involved have completed rectification under the supervision of the association. "Except for a few small factories that cannot be supervised, most of the formal enterprises have already produced in strict accordance with national standards." At the same time, industry insiders said that the overall standard for smart toilets is also being formulated, and it is necessary to get rid of one product as soon as possible. The awkward situation of enforcing two standards. In addition, Huang Xinhong also expressed the hope that the relevant state departments will strengthen the supervision of the industry: "For example, this spot check is the first time for this industry, but the role of promotion should not be underestimated. In the future, there will be more such supervision, and enterprises will naturally be more self-disciplined and standardized. After all, no one wants to smash their own brand."

Industry insiders also appeal that smart toilet products are still the future development trend. There are not a few smart toilet companies with strong technical strength in China, and many are still OEM for Japanese brands, so there is no need for such a small number of companies. Product lost confidence. "Spontaneous combustion accidents, etc. are extremely unlikely events." Regular brand products purchased in large supermarkets can still be used with confidence.

How should consumers who accidentally buy the unqualified products announced this time protect their rights? A reporter from the Beijing Times consulted the 12315 hotline and learned that if the production batch, date, and model of their own products are completely consistent with the unqualified products, and If you have a shopping voucher, you can ask the merchant to return it for no reason.
